I wonder if the change in the Martians' physical description was an error or if this was actually a carry-over from the Americanized versions of Wells' original tale?

As for Tesla, rumor has it he was too busy teaching Mark Twain the hadoken to participate...Weird Jonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17893125321685352122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-423034107073742763.post-53008330281186234552011-01-06T12:40:02.876-05:002011-01-06T12:40:02.876-05:00I'm halfway through the book. Besides the philosophical shift from Wells, two things seem very odd so far: 1) the physical description of the Martians is radically changed from Wells' book, so that they're large humanoids; 2) Edison's spaceships have to use flags and mirrors to communicate with each other! Odd since "wireless telegraphy" was demonstrated years before the book was written. (Also odd that, although many of the characters are real scientists, like Lord Kelvin, there's no mention at all of Tesla ....)Manuel Royalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00392229225958688128noreply@blogger.com
